James Wan In Talks For Creature From The Black Lagoon Reboot

This year marks the 70th anniversary of Creature from the Black Lagoon, a film that introduced one of the few Universal Monsters who hasn’t been endlessly remade. But the Gill-man may finally be getting a chance for a comeback, with reports that horror veteran James Wan is in negotiations to direct and produce a new Creature from the Black Lagoon remake.Via Deadline, Wan’s take on Creature from the Black Lagoon will be “a grounded modernized retelling that leans into visceral horror while paying respect to the original classic.” In the 1954 original, Ben Chapman and Ricou Browning played the Gill-man, a creature of unknown origin who ran afoul of an expedition in the Amazon. The creature also displayed a very obvious infatuation with a young woman named Kay Lawrence (Julia Adams), who did …

Alien: Romulus Includes An Easter Egg For This Popular Video Game

Alien: Romulus will contain a nod to the 2014 survival-horror game Alien: Isolation. Director Fede Alvarez said recently that the Creative Assembly game taught him a lot about horror, and he is honoring the game with a little Easter egg in Alien: Romulus.”The movie is set up in a way [that] every time something bad is about to happen, you will see a phone,” he said on the Inside Total Film podcast. “In the game, every time you knew there’s a phone you’d go, ‘Fuck, I’m about to go into some bad set-piece.’ It’s the same thing here. You’ll see they’re planted strategically throughout the film. When you see the phone, it’s like: Brace for impact.” Alvarez went on to say Alien: Isolation was an experience that “made me see that Alien could truly be terrifying and done well [today].””I…

Borderlands Was Originally Filmed As An R-Rated Movie

This week, the Borderlands movie is out in theaters, and the reviews have not been kind. On top of everything else, the PG-13 film is up against Marvel’s R-rated juggernaut, Deadpool and Wolverine, which should sail to another win in its third weekend. But there’s a much darker version of Borderlands that we may never see, because this film was originally intended to be R-rated as well.Borderlands stunt coordinator Jimmy O’Dee told ScreenRant that the movie had a lot of gory violence, including decapitations and dismemberment, that didn’t make it into the final film.”We were shooting an R-rated movie when we did it,” recalled O’Dee. “So, we were blowing people’s heads off. And we were cutting feet off. We were doing all of that. But then, you know, a lot happens. We shot that nearly three …

New Trailer For Agatha All Along Walks The Witches' Road

WandaVision was the first Marvel Studios series on Disney+ in 2021, but it’s taken the better part of three years to get back to Kathryn Hahn’s witch, Agatha Harkness, after she was left powerless in the finale. But in the new trailer for Agatha All Along, Agatha has a plan to reclaim everything she lost and more… if her new coven can help her reach the end of the Witches’ Road. It seems like there’s a high price for the power that Agatha wants, and she’s perfectly willing to let her so-called friends and allies in the coven pay it before she does. There’s no sign of Wanda Maximoff in this trailer, but it does appear that the show will offer an even deeper dive into the world of magic than we’ve seen before in the MCU. Doctor Strange notwithstanding, since the good doctor’s sorc…
