PS5 Will Become About $90 More Expensive In This Major Market

Usually, video game consoles get cheaper as the years pass by. But that’s not the case for the PS5 in Japan. In fact, Sony is about to raise the price for both PS5 models there by 13,000 yen on September 2, which is roughly about $90 in the US.On X, The Verge senior reporter Tom Warren highlighted the price hike for the PS5 in Japan. He also pointed out that this will be the third time Sony has raised the price for the system in Japan since the PS5 launched in late 2020.
